The 6 Virtues

When I was a kid,

every morning before I leave home for school,

I would hug and kiss my dad on his cheeks,

and then he would ask me,

"Hidup kena apa nak?"

I'd then reply,

"Pandai, Berani, Baik, Berjimat, Bersyukur, Bersabar."

My dad has instill these 6 virtues in me even before I can speak.

Over the years, as I grew up, I've almost forgotten these 6 virtues.

Until that day, when I was at the airport sending them off to Malaysia,

my dad hugged me and kissed me on the cheeks,

then he goes, "Hidup kena apa nak?"

Within his arms I shred miles of tears,

I replied,

"Pandai, Berani, Baik, Berjimat, Bersyukur, Bersabar."
